A whimsical alchemy of folk, blues, indie and small quantities of other reagents, resulting in a product of pure entertainment.

Test Tube Poets is made up of a trio of high school teachers.  Two English teachers and one Chemistry teacher.  That adds up to three, which is primarily what makes us a trio.  We (Mark Burns, Dana Lemieux and Dan Noll), have been meshing styles and original tunes for several years.

We initially performed countless living room concerts in front of countless fans.  The performances were countless because there were too many to count.  The fans were countless because there wasn't anyone else in the room.

We then decided it was time to finally mix things up a bit, and actually play for other people!  We have now performed at various venues and private parties around Yakima (click "Gig Dates" for our complete resume), and we are hoping to continue playing our unique, whimsical and original brand of music as much as we can.

Dana Lemieux

Bass guitar, ukulele, harmonica, vocals, and any other instrument he's recently purchased.

Dana is an English teacher at Naches High School in the beautiful community of Naches Washington.  He is also an actor in many of the Yakima Valley area theatrical productions. His multi talented musical abilities make him a vital component to the TTP's!

Dan Noll

Acoustic guitar, vocals.

Dan is a Chemistry and Physics teacher at West Valley High School in Yakima Washington.  He started playing guitar as a young boy, which is fortunate, because his growth has been slow!  The fortunate thing is that he's getting pretty old, so he's not half bad.  He also sings and writes many of the original tunes.  Songs with many words are often his forte.

Mark Burns

Mark Burns

Acoustic guitar, vocals.

Mark is an English teacher at West Valley High School as well.  He's been a singer/songwriter for decades, and continues to write new material to this day.  His poetic take on experiences bring a deep, relatable flavor to TTP's sound.  Some may say Mark's songs are always about a girl.  Which might be reinforced by a song he wrote called, "It's Always About a Girl".
